A by-election for a seat on Daventry District Council looks set to be held in July following the resignation of Councillor Fabienne Fraser-Allen.

A Notice of Election for the Brixworth Ward seat has been published and potential candidates will have until 4pm on Friday, 21 June to submit their nomination papers.

If the by-election is contested, then the polling day will be held on Thursday, 18 July and people living in Brixworth, Cottesbrooke, Creaton, Draughton, Lamport, Maidwell and Scaldwell will be able to vote.

Councillor Fraser-Allen was elected in 2016 to the District Council seat, which is one of three covering the Brixworth electoral ward area.

Residents in the ward who are not already registered to vote would have until 2 July to do so if the by-election is contested. For more information visit www.daventrydc.gov.uk/elections
